My name is Emmeline, but you can call me Emm! You may know me from my work as a self-love and body-neutrality photographer. I recently expanded my offering to include Little Moons, all about maternity, newborn, and family photography.
Why Little Moons?
My daughter's name is Mayari, and she is named after the goddess of the moon in Tagalog mythology. Since she was such a huge part of inspiring me to start Little Moons, it felt like the perfect name. She is my little moon, after all!
Fun fact: in mythology, Mayari is the sister of Tala, the goddess of stars, and Adlaw, the sun god.
MY AIM AS A PHOTOGRAPHER
Photography is an empowering practice, and getting your photo taken can be the chance to see yourself through new eyes. When I photograph you, I want you to feel comfortable in your skin at every life stage. The details of your body, during pregnancy and post-partum, are beautiful and deserve to be celebrated.
As a self-love photographer, I learned to pose and guide people to help them feel beautiful and powerful. During this process, I discovered that everybody is a work of art that deserves to be cherished and nourished. No matter their age!
WHY THE ADDITION OF BABY AND FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY?
When Mayari first came into my life a little over a year ago, I naturally began to pull out my camera and photograph her. Every detail from her toes, her hands, and her eyes became utterly enthralling to me. I soon discovered that just like my work as a woman's photographer, babies are tiny, beautiful works of art. Those tiny, little features are perfect and deserve to be remembered as they are now.
I want to help you capture those first moments on camera and remember those feelings—that wonderfully soft skin, the tiny head in your hands, and that fresh baby smell.
While I would sometimes get the chance to photograph families, now that I have a family of my own, I could connect with them entirely differently, and it feels natural to expand my work to include them.
My Photography Style
In my life and work, I cherish simple things, which is why my photography is naturalistic and pure. My work is minimalistic and intentional, which allows you to focus on the essential details rather than getting caught up in too many props or gimmicks. Sometimes you need nothing more than beautiful light and a beautiful family to make the magic happen.

the studio
The Little Moons studio is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba in the Exchange District. With tall ceilings, hardwood floors and big east facing windows, the studio has a bright, calm and natural feel.
We have a variety of neutral colour infant clothing that's great for all skin tones.
